I Just Want to Run

I just want to run.
Eyes forward, face in the wind,
deep breaths of my choosing,
on no one depend.

Why reach for a hug,
and recoil inside,
my body wants escape,
my eyes hide.

Lonely on the street,
at rest in the sand,
whatever may rise,
to not give a damn.

No power to hold,
except what I live,
no one believing,
I have to forgive.

No struggle to heal,
delusions just haunt,
and make wounds deeper,
in dreams demons taunt.

The night hides my tears,
repress with the sun,
fuck thoughts of hope,
I just want to run.
